Wood provides tranquility

Kolar's (which is based in Brunn am Gebirge) range of acoustic products, was the focus of the company's presentation at the BAU trade fair, which took place in Munich in January. The highlight was the sound-absorbing wooden elements, which are made from staggered rectangular stripwood or round rods with an expressive 3D look. The elements are manufactured in the standard wood types of beech and oak as well as in wood types with a low weight. The surface can remain unlacquered or be lacquered. The acoustic elements are suitable for mounting on walls and ceilings.

In addition, Kolar presented further acoustic solutions at the BAU trade fair, such as Stepwood acoustic. In comparison to smooth surfaces, this product provides better acoustic values due to the stepped surface. In combination with different drilled holes, an individually optimal acoustic solution can be reached. Stepwood acoustic panels are available in oak, walnut, spruce and beech, finished in matt lacquer and manufactured with two different drilled holes (1.2 mm and 2 mm).

Kolar wooden lattices are also an option for equipping rooms with optimized room acoustics. The wooden lattices have a discontinuous surface, which makes them visually appealing.

Awarded several design and innovation prizes, the Dukta flexible wood acoustic material completes Kolar's acoustic range. Dukta flexible wood is single-sided or double-sided wood-based panels that Kolar offers in four different milling types (Janus, Sonar, Linar and Foli). Thanks to the special, patented incision process, a flexible panel is achieved. Their bendability and transparency open up a great deal of creative freedom.. In addition to wall and ceiling applications, Dukta flexible wood is also suitable for freestanding partition elements and in acousitcally sensitive rooms.
